Grobnik Alps (Hahlić) is mountain region above Rijeka and Grobnik. This is 5th time I’m visiting Grobnik alps, and fourth time by bike, but I’ve never visited this peak.  I liked this ascent the best. Descent from Ćunina glava has nice views, enough of steep sections and very interesting technical sections that are very fun and challenging. Starting point is in Podkilavac. As all of my previous routes on Grobnik alps, they all lead to Hahlić mountain hut, so you can combine them.

We encountered on some trimmed trees that woodmen  “forgot” on the road. As you get closer to the end, trail becomes steeper, so some hiking is needed, but you are rewarded with lovely views on surroundings.

Following the trail we slowly realized that it became more and more familiar. Picture from below shows trail that we rode in opposite direction. Now it leads us to Hahlići hut.

All three of us (Gojsi, Ivan and me) like Grobnik alps very much, and every time one of us suggests trip on Hahlić, other two welcome suggestion gladly. Because this rute is not so long, we took our time in the hut. Ate, drank and even took some nap. We rested a little bit too long that short (15 minutes) bike&hike to the peak Ćunina glava hit us in the head like a boxer.

The beginning of descent from the Ćunina glava is similar to descent West ridge of Mudna dol, but soon after, trail becomes very steep with demanding technical sections. Ivan and Gojsi liked west ridge more than Ćunina glava, but I prefer this trail named Kolci. But we all agreed that you should try them both.
From Ćunina glava peak you can see other peaks of Grobnik alps, and you have also open view on Učka mountain, and islands Cres and Krk.
