Ratitovec is a mountain ridge in the Julian Alps in Slovenia. The Krek Lodge (Krekova koča) stands on the ridge it is located below Gladki vrh. Krekova Koča is our final destination and from there starts our descent.
From the cottage there is a beautiful view of the Škofjeloška and Cerkljan hills. In the distance we also see the Julian Alps, Karavanke and the Kamniška and Savinjska Alps. There is also a winter bivouac a few meters behind the cottage. The cottage is open permanently in the summer season, otherwise on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, if the weather is nice. This is good to know because you don’t have to carry a lots of water or food, all of the above you can find there.
