Weekend when we visited Promina was reserved for Velebit and its highest peak, but due to logistic problems and weather conditions we decided to visit Promina instead. We were amazed with this mountain positioned in inland of Dalmatia and its beautiful trails. I got a contact from a friend and he sent us “best of” gpx track and even drawn for us some parts of trails that we wanted to ride.

We parked our car on parking space of some building and from there started our ride that starts from Drniš. From there we started to Promina mountain. Almost  all the time, ascent is on unpaved road, some short parts are on hiking trail (and doable with bike).

Grabarak & Zečak

Grabarak and Zečak are two trails on the border of Samobor and Žumberak hills. I found about these trails after seeing youtube video of local guys who explore this region. The gave me their gpx track (thank you guys if you read this) so I decided to visit these trails with Đuro. Each of these trails are positioned on different hills, and have different unpaved access, but are very close to each other.

We parked our car near hunting hut beside small Žumberak river (great spot for keeping drinks cold). It is also great spot to park there because trails from Grabarak and Zečak finish near that place, so You don’t have to carry much things with you.

Medvednica VTC: Tonchek & Tochkica i Blek Stena

I remember first time when I visited east part of Medvednica. It was winter, and snow covered everything in Zagreb. We decided to visit Gorščica and it was one of the best and most genuine experiences on Medvednica mountain. At the hut Gorčica we ended with knives in our hands peeling potatoes  with the host who then made us pancakes and he didn’t  want to take any money from us. That was the first time on Medvednica mountain that I felt like I’m in someone’s house and not in a restourant.
Now, concession ended for hosts, but they still give service in smaller hut nearby old shelter. They sell drinks, strudels and best pancakes (for only 5 kunas, which is only 0,65 euros).
