After all these lockdown periods and restrictions, we finally went in Italy and Slovenia to ride some Alpine trails. I really missed those trips. Even before lockdowns, when I was recovering from ligament rupture, I planned this two day trip to visit Skutnik (1st day) and Kanin (2nd day).
We stayed in Bovec and from there went to Oseaco/Osejane, and we encountered on problem. Road that goes across saddle was closed due to landslides and there wasn’t any warnings on internet, google maps. We found out about closed road when we stumbled on the ramp, so we had to take a longer road.
After reaching some football field, near Oseaco, we parked our car there in front of river Resia. At this point we started our ride on bikes. Almost all ascent is on asphalt road. After hut starts unpaved road and hiking section.

This is one of the epic routes that we ride maybe few times per year where we get our boundries examined in detail both in term of fitness and technical riding. For our effort we were rewarded with beautiful views.
Start of the route is in Belca settlment in the Municipality of Kranjska Gora in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. We parked our car and from there followed bike lane that goes along river Sava (here in Slovenia Sava has karst riverbed, in Croatia Sava is muddy river). After about 6 km, we turned right on the main road in Gozd Martuljek, and from there followed ascent to Srednji vrh.  At the beginning, ascent is on paved road with views on Julian Alps.
